We recently worked with Creative Arcade to create a series of PSA’s for St. Louis County about COVID-19 awareness. In addition to the videos, we photographed the Covid Ref performing a series of signals for use in digital and print. We shot in a locker room and decided to use lighting that would give the photos a gritty sports look. We ended up using three lights including gridded soft boxes to get the highlights we needed to pull off the shot.

In post-production, we desaturated much of the image, masked out the background to further darken it, and did some selective dodging and burning to make the Covid Ref pop off the background.
